Saanvi Sudeep, who has been dabbling with independent music for a while, has also begun prepping for her impending acting debut

When Kannada superstar Kiccha Sudeep gave his nephew Sanchith the moniker Kiccha Jr and threw his weight behind the youngster’s debut movie, it seemed that he may be the only one from the next generation with acting aspirations. Well, turns out, Sudeep’s daughter Sanvi has been waiting in the wings and is looking at making her acting debut too soon. Since Sanvi was dabbling with the independent music scene, it had seemed that her heart lay in being a vocalist. But in a new podcast, she revealed that she wants to see herself in front of the camera.

Speaking on the Jinal Modi podcast, Sanvi said that in preparation for an acting career, she did a 4-month workshop in Hyderabad, and is currently more focused on self-grooming. It took her a while, though, to come to the conclusion that she wants to be an actor, given that she has a big name – Sudeep – to live up to, and that she has varied interests, including direction and script writing. “I want to try everything, but my main thing will be acting,” she said.
The youngster candidly admits that she’s been overweight for a long time and that it will, hence, take her a while to get to her target shape. In the meantime, she is looking at keeping herself busy helping behind the camera, creating music and working on herself. But while she has a goal in sight as far as her career goes, Sanvi adds that one thing she cannot see herself doing is being someone’s heroine.

“I am not someone who’d want to be someone’s heroine. I cannot see myself do it. I have no disrespect towards it, but I just can’t do it. I have been raised with my father who’s constantly bullying me and two older cousin brothers who I have grown up with, so, I became like them. I wear my dad’s clothes, shoes and perfume and everyone knows I am his replica. I’d totally see myself doing a massy role or comedy, like the ones my dad does,” she explains.
