Kiccha Sudeep’s Sathya Jyothi Films collaboration is back on track, but is Srinidhi Shetty still a part of it?
Kiccha Sudeep's Sathya Jyothi Films project is on, but what about Srinidhi Shetty?

When Kannada superstar Kiccha Sudeep’s collaboration with Tamil Nadu-based Sathya Jyothi Films was announced last year, it was meant to be helmed by director Cheran with KGF-fame Srinidhi Shetty paired with Sudeep. But since then, there’d been no news of the project and Srinidhi sounded clueless when she was asked about it during the promotions of her last film, HIT 3. The actress had said that she was still waiting for word on the project from the production house.

Srinidhi Shetty still in #Kiccha47?

Well, the word is that Sathya Jyothi Films is going ahead with their film featuring Sudeep in the lead. They officially announced the project in Bengaluru on July 5, 2025. But there’s been some restructuring at the top - Cheran’s not the director; instead, Vijay Kartikeyaa, who presented the hit film Max last year with Sudeep is doing his sophomore project with the Kannada superstar. They revealed the project with an animated teaser that featured high-octane action and gun fights.

Given that Sudeep did not have a romantic interest in Max, an exclusion that he had recommended as he felt that it did not go with the flow of the narrative and was meant to be a flashback only, the big question is if the actor will have a heroine in his latest collaboration with Vijay. When asked about this, the filmmaker sheepishly admitted that this time too, there will not be a heroine in the picture, but assured that he’s got a thrilling script in hand that he is sure audiences will love. Where does that leave Srinidhi then? Well, a Sudeep collaboration will have to wait, it seems.

Meanwhile, speaking at the official launch of the film, which goes on floors on July 7, 2025 in Chennai, Sudeep said that he’s got a plan in mind for its completion and is targeting a December 25, 2025 theatrical release. While it seems difficult, Sudeep is optimistic about meeting that deadline, adding that Max had almost been wrapped up in a short timeframe, which was upset only by the unforeseen floods in Chennai.
