Kiccha47 birthday update: Title reveal or release date announcement?

Kannada superstar Kiccha Sudeep is quite keen to live up to his promise of having at least one release every year or year and a half, in the process of which he’s given up on his one film at a time policy and is currently straddling two – Billa Ranga Baashaa and an untitled project with Max maker Vijay Kartikeyaa.

The film with Vijay will be Sudeep’s next release, which, during an early press briefing about the project, he said he was hoping to have in theatres for Christmas, just like last year’s Max , which went on to become the highest grossing Kannada film of the year. The team is said to be shooting at break-neck speed to accomplish this, with Sudeep even getting the team of Bigg Boss Kannada to postpone the start of Season 12 by 3-4 weeks.

Fans want both title and release date of Kiccha47; convinced it it called Mark

On the occasion of Ganesha Chaturthi, it was announced that the team would have a major update for fans on Sudeep’s birthday next week, on September 2. The buzz is that it will be the title reveal, while some fans hope that it will be double dhamaka with the release date announcement as well. It’s been rumoured that the film is called Mark, with one theory being that it is the prequel to Max.

At the official announcement of the film in early July, the team had said that Kiccha47 had nothing to do with Max, other than that director Vijay Kartikeyaa was helming this one too and that his script, yet again, did not factor in a love interest for the superstar. The filmmaker has, however, promised a lot more mass moments than Max this time around.

The film, which will have music by Ajaneesh Loknath, also stars Naveen Chandra, Roshni Prakash, Gopalkrishna Deshpande, Abhishek George, Deepshika, Guru Somasundaram, Dev Gill, among others. Should Kiccha47 also gun for the Christmas holiday window, it will clash directly with composer Arjun Janya’s directorial debut 45, starring Shivarajkumar, Upendra and Raj B Shetty, the release date of which was announced recently.
