A year ago, shortly before his birthday, Kannada superstar Kiccha Sudeep had addressed the media and discussed his new strategy of doing films. Work on multiple films at a time and ensure that he has at least a release per year, he had said. In keeping with this, he’d started Billa Ranga Baashaa and an as-yet-untitled film with Max maker Vijay Kartikeyee, which will be his next release.

Kiccha47 set for Christmas 2025 release?

When the film, tentatively called Kiccha47, went on floors, Sudeep had said that the plan was to work towards having it in theatres by the end of the year. Christmas 2025 was the deadline they’d set themselves. Even though the film is still under production, fans steadfastly believed that the team would manage to meet this date.

But then, earlier this week, another Kannada film staked claim to the Christmas holiday window. Composer Arjun Janya’s directorial debut 45, starring Shivarajkumar, Upendra and Raj B Shetty has been announced as the December 25 release of the year? Will Sudeep go ahead and clash with them? Last year he did clash with Upendra, bringing Max to theatres only 5 days after the former’s UI, which, he had claimed was the producer’s call.

Ramesh Reddy, the producer of 45 had said that he was unaware of Sudeep’s plans for a Christmas release and that he would not have gone ahead and announced his film if he did. There’s also buzz that Darshan Thoogudeepa’s The Devil might either hit theatres for Rajyotsava or later in December, given that his last hit came at the end of 2023 with Kaatera .
