King teaser: Will Loose Mada Yogi’s milestone 50th give him the comeback he deserves?

King, directed by Jack, is a raw and gritty gangster tale. Will it give Loose Maada Yogi's career a boost? Netizens reckon if the film remains as raw as the teaser, it could just work well.

Kannada actor Yogesh, better known as Loose Mada Yogi, has made it to a milestone 50 films, with the 50th a gritty gangster tale called King. A title teaser of the film directed by Jack was released earlier today, in which a massive battalion of cops, led by SI Napolean (Pratap Narayan), head out to capture someone. When they get to the location, they find him sitting in a pool of blood, brandishing a kokke (hook) as weapon.

The opponents who are still left standing describe him as an animal and head to where he is, determined to see blood trickling down his eyes. What they see, though, is him dropping the hook and handcuffing himself to be escorted away by the police, with tears, and not blood, in his eyes. He is the King, who’s come back for his crown, declares the teaser, which was released with Tamil and Telugu versions as well.

Netizens impressed by the King teaser?

The response to the teaser was that netizens felt King could give Yogi the comeback he deserves. It’s been a while since the actor has had a solo lead success story to his credit and he has been doing supporting roles too. “Benki”, “Mindblowing”, “Super”, “Impressive”, “Mass”, were some of the adjectives used to describe the teaser, as wishes poured in for the actor.

The bottom line was that if the final product is as raw and gritty as the teaser, the film will be a sure-shot success, reckoned a large section of netizens. However, not all were impressed by the teaser, which, they felt was way too long given that it was just the one scene. Also, given that Yogi’s filmography has more lows than highs, the new moniker he has adopted, ‘Karunada Sultan’ did not sit well with them. “He’s done 50 films, but barring Sidlingu, no one remembers any other,” wrote a netizen in response.
