Kirik Party fame Samyuktha Hegde played the lead in director Abhishek Basanth’s social thriller, Kreem, based on a script by Agni Sridhar. Abhishek had assisted on the making of Head Bush, the MP Jayaraj biopic led by Dhananjaya, which was also based on Sridhar’s story. Announced in January 2022, the film hit theatres a good two years later, but did not work at the box office. And it took them another year and a half to get to OTT.

Kreem's OTT debut schedule
Kreem has cracked a streaming deal and will be available on Cinebazzar OTT from October 3 in Kannada with English subtitles. The film also stars Sridhar, Arun Sagar and Achyuth Kumar among others and deals with human sacrifice. The story revolves around a sinister cult that practices human sacrifice with Samyuktha’s character going from being almost victim to saving others like her who get caught in the group’s web.

In the film, Sridhar is the leader of this sinister group that engages in ritualistic human sacrifice of young girls in the pursuit of wealth and power. While the film’s subject was hard-hitting, Abhishek’s handling of the same was the dampener, failing to strike a chord with audiences.
Kreem is the latest film dropping on Cinebazzar, which has added titles like Maadeva, X&Y, My Hero, Somu Sound Engineer, Matinee, Taane, Life of Mrudula, Sanju Weds Geetha 2, among others. While the platform earlier functioned on TVOD (rental) basis only, there are subscription plans also now.
