Kubera: Has Dhanush, Nagarjuna's film gone over budget? Here's what we know | Exclusive

Sekhar Kammula, one of the most celebrated directors in Telugu cinema, is known for shaping the careers of many in the industry. For the first time, he is collaborating with Dhanush and Nagarjuna on a film titled Kubera, a social drama made on a grand scale.

Originally planned with a budget of ₹90 crore, the film's expenses have escalated significantly. As per sources from OTTplay, Kubera has now been completed with a budget of ₹120 crore, exceeding the initial estimate by ₹30 crore. This isn’t the first time a Sekhar Kammula project has gone over budget; his previous films, Fidaa and Love Story, also exceeded their planned costs, which left producer Dil Raju displeased.

Kubera's cast and crew details

Kubera is being produced by Suneil Narang, Sekhar Kammula, and Pushkar Ram Mohan Rao, who have spared no expense to ensure the film’s quality. Bringing Dhanush on board came with a hefty price tag, and Nagarjuna, who plays a key role, was also paid a substantial salary. Rashmika Mandanna, the female lead, commands a high fee as well.

The primary reason for the budget overrun was the additional shoot days, which led to increased daily wages and salaries for the supporting cast working on a day-to-day basis.

Recently, the teaser for Kubera was released and received widespread appreciation. While the main storyline remains under wraps, it is evident that both Nagarjuna and Dhanush are portraying characters unlike anything they’ve done before. Known for his expertise in crafting love stories, Sekhar Kammula has ventured into uncharted territory with Kubera.

Fans are eagerly awaiting the film's release to see what the acclaimed director has in store. DSP composed music for this film and this is the first time that he has teamed up with Sekhar Kammula. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting project.
