The filmmaker has pointed out various reasons for the same, including the fact that there is already a Hindi version for his movie which released in theatres and is likely to be out digitally in the language, too.

What did Laalo director Ankit Sakhiya say about Hindi adaptation of his Gujarati film?

Ankit Sakhiya, who has directed Laalo, is not keen about adapting his Gujarati movie into Hindi. While speaking to Variety India, he said, “The film was dubbed in Hindi so I do not feel a remake will happen. Also, Bollywood films need stars. Laalo is more of a content and character driven movie. I am unsure whom to cast from Bollywood in a movie like this.”

In the same interview, Ankit explained how Laalo took off. It all started with a big ambition – a movie with high budget. Since that movie did not take off, he started off with a smaller film ‘which could be made with a few actors, cameras and minimum resources.’ “The idea came to me randomly about a rickshaw driver being trapped in a farmhouse. We decided to keep the budget to a minimum and get the shoot started,” he shared.
