After more than a year’s wait, Tamil film Lal Salaam hit the streaming platform recently. The sports action drama is available on SunNXT, and you can watch it with your OTTplay Premium subscription. Directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth and starring Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth, the film also has an extended cameo appearance by Rajinikanth. While the film did not fare well during its theatrical release, upon its streaming debut, netizens have been kinder to the film and praising it for not being as imagined.

Lal Salaam is set in a Tamil Nadu village of Muradabad, where Muslims and Hindus live, and the land has been politically charged and witnessed communal riots. The film revolves around Thirunavakarasu (Vishnu Vishal), who is an ace cricketer but also a wastrel. When heis pitted to play against Shamshudin (Vikranth), son of Mohideen Bhai, violence returns to the cricket ground.

The film is available on SunNXT and OTTplay to stream. During its theatrical release, Lal Salaam did not do well. However, once the streaming audience watched it, netizens think it is not a bad film after all. The cinematography is handled by Vishnu Rangasamy and editing by Pravin Baaskar. Lal Salaam is helmed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth, who previously directed films like 3 , and Vai Raja Vai.
