With 2025 stepping into its second week, it warrants new releases. While there will be only a handful of releases, the much-anticipated Tamil film Vidaamuyarchi is all set to hit theatres. Scores of Ajith Kumar fans have been eagerly anticipating the release of the film. Vidaamuyarchi will be taking all the major screens, and hence you may find only a few releases alongside.

Here is the list of what you can stream on various digital platforms or watch in theatres this week.

Vidaamuyarchi – Theatres (February 6)

Vidaamuyarchi is an action thriller helmed by Magizh Thirumeni and stars Ajith Kumar in the lead role. It marks the first time Ajith Kumar is collaborating with the director. The film also stars Trisha, Arjun, Regina Cassandra, Nikhil Nair, Aarav, and others. Vidaamuyarchi is produced by Lyca Productions and has music by Anirudh Ravichander. It is rumoured to be a remake of the Hollywood film Breakdown, but the makers have not confirmed if the news is true. Having completed the censor formalities, Vidaamuyarchi has received a U/A certificate. The trailer of the film was unveiled a few days back, giving a glimpse of how the film will be set in Azerbaijan and will revolve around a couple on a road trip.

Madraskaaran – Aha Tamil (February 7)

Madraskaaran is a Tamil emotional drama featuring Shane Nigam in the lead role, and in his Tamil debut. Helmed by Vaali Mohan Das, the film also features Kalaiyarasan, Aishwarya Dutta, Karunas, Geetha Kailasam, Niharika Konidela and others. The film revolves around a man who returns to his hometown in Pudukottai to get married to the love of his life. However, one single instance on his wedding day changes his life overall. The film has music by Sam CS. You can watch Madraskaaran with your OTTplay subscription.

Thandel - Theatres (February 7)

Thandel is a romantic drama, starring Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi in the lead roles. The film is directed by Chandoo Mondeti, and produced by Geetha Arts. Thandel marks the second collaboration of the lead actors after Love Story. The upcoming film revolves around a few fishermen who find themselves lost in Pakistan waters.
