Lokesh Kanagaraj with Vijay

The hype surrounding Leo needs no introduction; the Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial is releasing in four languages on October 19 and Netflix has bagged its post theatrical digital rights for a huge amount. Sanjay Dutt, Arjun, Trisha, Mysskin and Gautham Menon among others play key roles in the movie bankrolled by Lalit Kumar's Seven Screen Studio.

The team is expected to come up with a few surprises this month as Vijay's birthday falls on June 22. Fans are looking forward to promo videos and stills from makers though its release is more than four months away.

The film will have a solo release in Tamil Nadu. However, it is likely to have a box office clash with the films of Ram Pothineni and Ravi Teja in Tollywood. There are reports of the movie locking horns with Prithviraj's Aadu Jeevitham in Kerala. A few months ago, a fan club of Vijay in Alappuzha in the state had distributed tickets for the FDFS of the film.

Now, another news from Kerala has left Vijay's fans elated. Leading producer and distributor Gokulam Gopalan is said to have offered 15 crores to bag the project's theatrical rights in the state.

This will be considered as the biggest deal for a non-Malayalam movie if it works with all parties involved. A few days ago, there was news about Film Exhibitors United Organization of Kerala (FEUOK) trying to bag Leo's rights. It looks like there will be clarity on who has managed to grab the rights in the coming days.

The film is expected to register a huge opening in Kerala considering Vijay's popularity in the state and Lokesh's previous movie Vikram scoring a huge success there.
