Lock Upp - Ali Mercchant.

Ali Mercchant was evicted from Kangana Ranaut’s Lock Upp a week before the semi-finale. He has now shared a note thanking everyone who supported him in the journey which was a huge step for him to restart the acting journey. In the same note, the actor-DJ also hinted that he wants to be a part of another reality show – Khatron Ke Khiladi.

Towards the end of his note, Ali penned, “Ab life mein koi bhi khatron se khel sakta hoon lekin pyaar se.” For the uninitiated, Ali had gone to the house in a very uncalled for condition. His ex-wife Sara Khan was a part of the show and she had refrained interacting with him or even being around Ali.

In his note, Ali also spoke about his learnings from the show. He learnt how to never underestimate himself, put others down for his own benefit and never get influenced by someone else. Ali was accused of doing all the three. At one point, he did underestimate himself. Soon, Sara accused him of coming on the show because she is a part of it (which Ali had clarified was not the case since he was approached for the show before he knew she would be on Lock Upp but guessed that the makers could brew some trouble). Later, Azma Fallah accuses Ali Mercchant of being one of Munawar Faruqui’s ‘bakra’ who only follows what he says.

Like most ex-contestants have said, the show requires them to be badass but they did not wish to stoop down after a point. That is what Ali also said in his note. He shared that even when the show demanded that he should be a badass, it never took over him as a person.

The actor-turned-DJ went to Lock Upp to redeem himself and his career. He believes he has managed to do that, even if just a little.
