Lokah Chapter 1 box collection day 24: Even after dethroning Mohanlal's Empuraan to become the highest-grossing Malayalam film ever, Kalyani Priyadarshan’s superhero movie continues its juggernaut at the box office. Lokah Chapter 1 Chandra, backed by Dulquer Salmaan, minted Rs 3.15 crore on its fourth Saturday at the cinemas, as per industry tracker Sacnilk.

Kalyani Priyadarshan-led 2025 Malayalam film Lokah Chapter 1 Chandra has earned Rs 271 crore, as per industry trackers, surpassing the Rs 266-crore lifetime collections of Empuraan, starring Mohanlal and helmed by actor-director Prithviraj Sukumaran. On September 20, the Dominic Arun directorial made Rs 3.15 Crore, with the overall net India collection at Rs 133.65 crore. The India gross collection is at Rs 152.7 crore, while the overseas collection stands at Rs 113.3 crore.

The bulk of the collections comes from Malayalam, contributing Rs 103.45 crore. The earnings from Tamil and Telugu states, however, have seen a drastic dip, with only Rs 0.45 crore from Tamil version and Rs 0.05 crore from Telugu. The film had won positive feedback from Telugu states but the success of recent releases such as Teja Sajja’s Mirai meant that Lokah has been sidelined.

Meanwhile, the success of Lokah has prompted the makers to delay the OTT release. The superhero film, which also stars Naslen in a key role, is headed to Netflix, as per reports. Though it was speculated that Lokah would drop on streaming this week, it has been pushed, given the film’s stellar run in the cinemas. But you can watch Kalyani Priyadarshan on streaming as her other Onam release, Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira, will drop on Netflix on September 26, 2025. The film stars Fahadh Faasil in the lead.
