Lokah Chapter 1 Chandra recently dropped on JioHotstar via OTTplay Premium recently, further sparking discussions and speculations about the new universe that director Dominic Arun has created in Malayalam. Now that almost every scene of the Kalyani Priyadarshan-starrer has been dissected and discussed, the focus is on Lokah Chapter 2, which will have actor Tovino Thomas in the lead as Chathan. From the likely conflict point to more cameos to and further exploring Malayalam folklore, here's what to expect from next installment of Lokah-verse.

What to expect from Lokah Chapter 2

Tovino Vs Tovino in Lokah Chapter 2?

Lokah Chapter 2 will star Tovino Thomas, who already made a cameo appearance as Michael, a Chathan (or goblin) in Kalyani Priyadarshan-led Chapter 1. In the post-credit scenes of Lokah, we saw Michael explaining that he has more than 389 siblings who look the same. In the promo that announced Lokah 2 also, Michael explained that his not-so-fun big brother is coming back, seeking to take down him and Moothon (The Elder). The subsequent animation visuals also showed a rugged-looking Chathan grabbing Michael by the neck as more supernatural beings enter the frame.

Dulquer Salmaan’s Odiyan to the rescue?

The same promo also showed Dulquer Salmaan, the Odiyan Charlie, refusing to meddle in Michael’s family affairs. But Michael says that he would indeed come, or else the goblins would bring him. Though Michael says ‘let’s see’ we are confident that when the occasion arises, Charlie would not shy from stepping in to save Chathan.

More camoes

Apart from Tovino and Dulquer, Chapter 1 had several cameos, including Anna Ben, Sunny Wayne, Vishak Nair, Soubin Shahir, Santhy Balachandran, Ahaana Krishna, and Balu Varghese. We expect at least some of them to return such as Sunny Wayne who played Kadamattathu Kathanar in Chapter 1 and had sought Neeli’s help to capture Chathan. There is also Mammootty who voiced Moothon in the first installment, with Michael already saying that his brother is targeting The Elder, we could finally get to see the megastar in the superhero franchise. Apart from these, the film could also feature more interesting cameo appearances.

Delve into another folklore from Kerala

Like Kalliyankattu Neeli in the first installment, Chathan is also a folklore character from Kerala and is usually referred to as Kuttichathan. When we first see Michael in Chapter 1, he has a keychain with the kuttychattan figurine. With Dominic Arun and co-writer Santhy Balachandran at the helm, we expect Lokah Chapter 2 to improvise or present Chathan in a different light in the next installment, akin to how they reimagined the tale of Kalliyankattu Neeli who up until now was depicted as a bloodthirsty vampire or yakshi.

Chandra, Sunny and Venu to be back for Chapter 2?

In Lokah Chapter 1, we learned about the tale of Chandra, aka Neeli, and that Michael has a soft spot for her but that she is not interested. Chandra, her love interest Sunny (Naslen) and his friend Venu (Chandu Salimkumar) are likely to return as Michael has already given Venu his key chain, saying that they would be needing it later on. This hints that the keychain could be of some help during a moment of trouble later on.

When will Lokah Chapter 2 release?

Currently, we have no update on when Lokah Chapter 2 will release in theatres. Though the makers released the promo of Lokah 2 in September 2025, there is no update on when the next installment will go on floors.
