Lokah Chapter 1 Chandra is just three days away from making its highly anticipated digital release on JioHotstar (OTTplay Premium) in multiple languages, including Hindi. Starring Kalyani Priyadarshan, the Malayalam film had a phenomenal run at the box office, shattering several records to become the highest grossing Malayalam film ever. Here’s how much Lokah made during its record-breaking run at the box office.

Lokah Chapter 1 Chandra, which released in theatres for Onam 2025 in August, became the first Malayalam film to break into the Rs 300 crore club. The woman-led superhero film helmed by Dominic Arun, toppled the likes of Mohanlal’s L2 Empuraan and the survival thriller Manjummel Boys to become the highest-grosser in Malayalam. Backed by actor-producer Dulquer Salmaan, Lokah has amassed Rs 303.52 crore in worldwide collections, as per industry tracker Sacnilk. And the box office verdict for Lokah is that it has emerged to become an all-time blockbuster.

Mohanlal-starrer Empuraan, directed by actor-director Prithviraj Sukumaran, was the previous topper with Rs 266.81 crore.

The India gross collection of Lokah is Rs 183.62 crore, while the overseas collection is Rs 119.9 crore.

The film, which reimagined a classic Kerala folklore, was released in other Indian languages of Tamil, Telugu and even Hindi. But the bulk of the earnings came from the Malayalam version with Rs 122.53 crore, followed by Tamil at Rs 16.61 crore and Telugu at Rs 13.76 crore, as per the Sacnilk website. But even after its OTT release date was announced, Lokah continues to run in select screens.

Lokah, which also stars Naslen in a key role along with Kalyani, will release on JioHotstar via OTTplay Premium on October 31, 2025. Though the film released on August 28, there was no official update on the OTT release until recently. You can watch the Malayalam superhero film in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi.
