Lokah: Chapter 1 - Chandra has made Kalyani Priyadarshan the first actress from Malayalam to enter the Rs 200-crore club which up until then had only male stars. The young actress is still processing the phenomenal achievement, but says that she hopes to grow as an actor and expressed her concern that she would get the ‘liberty to fail’ as well.

Kalyani Priyadarshan played the superhero Chandra, aka Neeli, in the 2025 Malayalam film Lokah: Chapter 1 - Chandra, which is now only second to Mohanlal’s Empuraan among the highest-grossing Malayalam films. During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Kalyani said that her father Priyadarshan’s constant advice to her is to never let success to get into her head.

“He keeps reminding me of this every day. So just need to make sure that I continue to grow as an actor. I hope I get the liberty to fail sometimes as well because I think that's how we grow as actors. So I hope that my career is going to be that I I get to tell different kinds of stories, fail sometimes, explore my range as an actor,” she told the portal.

Kalyani was also joined by actor-producer Dulquer Salmaan and Lokah director Dominic Arun. Dulquer, who has backed the woman-led superhero film, also remarked that they could never have imagined the unprecedented success of Lokah and the wide range of audiences that the movie has touched. Lokah is the first part of a franchise created by Dominic Arun's team, including co-writer Santhy Balachandran and cinematographer Nimish Ravi. Lokah Chapter 1 Chandra will be followed by four more instalments.

Kalyani plays a woman with superhuman powers named Chandra. Naslen of Premalu fame plays the other key role of Sunny in the film, along with Chandu Salimkumar and Arun Kurian, who add to the humorous elements of the film.
