Aisha

Adapted from Jane Austen’s 1815 novel Emma, Sonam Kapoor is the protagonist in Aisha, which is the story of a stylish, chic, upper middle-class South Delhi girl who makes everyone, including her best friend Pinky (Ira Dubey), small town girl Shefali (Amrita Puri), West Delhi boy Randhir (Cyrus Sahukar) and handsome hunk Dhruv (Arunoday Singh), follow what she says. All while Aisha stays in her own happy bubble. Each item of clothing, random items, and colour choices have been thoughtfully coordinated to produce a canvas that resembles a tour through a museum filled to the brim with works of art.

Although she is a spoiled brat, Aisha is endearing, even though Ira Dubey's best friend's performance as Pinky Bose stands out for her arrogant magnificence. The two are utterly captivating as they bring to life the stereotypical super bi**ches, who, beneath their glitzy exteriors, are lovable, kind, and ambitious. In a pivotal moment, the girls ask each other if they will have to die alone while giggling their hearts out.
