We had already reported JioHotstar’s South Unbound event has unveiled the new content slate that will be hitting the platform this year. One of them was Lucky The Superstar, an OTT film that stars GV Prakash and Anaswara Rajan. The makers on Monday announced that Lucky will stream on February 20. Subscribers of OTTplay Premium will also be able to watch the film soon.

Lucky OTT release date: When is it coming out?

Lucky The Superstar is an upcoming Tamil film. The film will be skipping a theatrical release and heading to OTT. In the recently held event to announce JioHotstar’s upcoming slate, it was unveiled that Lucky is one among them. The film will stream on February 20 on JioHotstar via OTTplay Premium.

Lucky The Superstar is directed by Uday Mahesh who famously played Chellam in The Family Man series. The upcoming film revolves around a lost puppy that changes the lives of every person it encounters. From healing a child to uniting a family and even causing a political upheaval, Lucky is a feel-good film that will mainly cater to children.

The film will be headlined by actor-composer GV Prakash, who will star alongside Anaswara Rajan, Devadarshini, Subbu Panchu Arunachalam, Kovai Sarala, Elango Kumaravel, Namo Narayan, Daniel, Madhusudhan Rao and others. With music scored by Hesham Abdul Wahab, Kishore is the editor.

What else is coming on JioHotstar?

JioHotstar which has been growing its south content slate, also has a series titled Kaattan starring Vijay Sethupathi and directed by Manikandan. The rural action drama series is expected to premiere sometime in summer. The streaming platform also has renewed Good Wife and Heart Beat for next seasons, along with new shows like Resort, Lingam, and Love Always in the pipeline for release.

Anaswara Rajan has Tamil film scheduled for release this week. Titled With Love, the romantic drama will hit big screens on February 6 and features Abishan Jeevinth in the lead role. It is directed by debutant Madhan.
