Lucky The Superstar is an upcoming Tamil film, which will be skipping theatrical release and head to OTT. The film is part of the latest Tamil slate announced by streaming platform JioHotstar. Starring actor-composer GV Prakash in the lead role, and a puppy at the centre, Lucky The Superstar will stream this week in several languages.

Lucky The Superstar OTT release date: When and where to stream in Telugu and Hindi?

Only a couple of months ago did JioHotstar announce its new content slate. One among it is Lucky The Superstar, a straight to OTT Tamil film. Lucky The Superstar is set to premiere on JioHotstar on February 20. The film will be available in its original language, Tamil, apart from in Telugu, Hindi, Marathi, Malayalam, Kannada and Bengali languages, with English subtitles. Subscribers of OTTplay Premium can also watch the film.

Lucky The Superstar is about a puppy which gets lost from its family and end up changing the lives of many, from that of a politician to a family and even heals a child. The film, which is mainly children-friendly, and light-hearted in nature, is the first offering from JioHotstar in Tamil this year. It is also the first direct-to-OTT film to release in 2026 so far.

What else do we know about Lucky The Superstar?

Lucky The Superstar is written and directed by filmmaker Uday Mahesh who returns to direction after 18 years, nearly two decades. The filmmaker is most famously known to play Chellam sir in Raj and DK's Hindi spy thriller series The Family Man.

With GV Prakash playing the lead role, and Anaswara Rajan who was recently seen in With Love, also having an important character to play, Lucky The Superstar is billed to be a light-hearted entertainer. Koval Sarala, Motta Rajendran, Thambi Ramaiah have also lent their voices to the canine characters in the film. Meanwhile, Ilango Kumaravel, Daniel Annie Pope, Subbu Panchu, and others appear in supporting roles.
