Luv Ranjan has confirmed his next, which is an action movie with Sanjay Dutt and Ajay Devgn in the lead roles. The film is scheduled for release in the same month as Shah Rukh Khan’s movie, King. Luv Ranjan confirmed the project with Bollywood Hungama and said, “Ranger is a tentative title. As usual, we are trying to figure out the correct title (laughs). The release is 11 months away. So, hopefully, by then, we’ll be able to find one.”

Speaking about Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt’s collaboration on an action film, he said, “Ajay sir and Sanju sir have worked together so many times in these 25 years. Yet, they have never done an action film together. It is very shocking. It is extremely exciting that we’ll get to see them in an action film for the first time.” The duo has worked together in the comic space for various films including All The Best and Son of Sardaar. As for actioners, they were a part of Bhuj, LOC: Kargil and Tango Charlie but never shared the same screen.

Ranger is not exactly clashing with Shah Rukh Khan’s King. Both the movies are scheduled for December release, but while Ranger will release on December 4, Shah Rukh Khan’s King is scheduled for release on December 25. “Yes, it's true (that it would release on December 4),” Luv shared. The filmmaker is also working on Cocktail 2, starring Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna.
