Maanaadu directed by Venkat Prabhu, is one of the biggest super hits of Kollywood this year. The movie, starring Silambarasan in the lead, had hit the screens on November 25 amid several issues pertaining to its release. SJ Suryah plays the antagonist in the project which has Kalyani Priyadarshan essaying the female lead.

Karunakaran, Premgi Amaren, Mahat, YG Mahendra, Subbu Panchu, Manoj, Anjena and SA Chandrasekar among others play key roles in the film which has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and editing by Praveen. Stunt Silva has choreographed action scenes in the movie which has cinematography by Richard M Nathan.

What's Maanaadu all about?

Dubai-based Abdul Khaliq, who is on his way to Coimbatore to attend a marriage, realizes that he is stuck in a time-loop. He also gets to know that Dhanushkodi, a corrupted cop, has been hatching plans to assassinate Tamil Nadu Chief Minister. Abdul understands that he needs to thwart Dhanush's plans to abort a religious riot.

He comes up with various ideas to get himself out of the time-loop, but in vain. Will he be able to stop the plans initiated by the crooked cop and his team?

When and where to watch Maanaadu online?

The political thriller is set for a premiere on OTT on December 24 on SonyLIV. The film, which opened to positive reviews from critics and audience as well, went on to join the top five highest grossing Tamil movies of 2021. Billed as the comeback vehicle of Silambarasan before the release, Maanaadu helped the actor to get back in the game.

He, along with Suryah, Praveen, Venkat and Yuvan received appreciation for their respective works in the film. The project's OTT premiere is happening exactly a month after its theatrical release. The film was initially slated for a theatrical release on Deepavali, but got postponed owing to financial issues.
