Maareesan OTT release date: Actors Vadivelu and Fahadh Faasil once again collaborated for a road-trip thriller, directed by Sudheesh Sankar

Maareesan, the recently released Tamil film starring actors Vadivelu and Fahadh Faasil in the lead roles, is all set to make its OTT debut. The post-streaming rights of the film have been bagged by Netflix. The streaming platform announced that Maareesan from August 22 onwards, in multiple languages.

We had earlier reported that Netflix has bagged the post-theatrical streaming rights of Maareesan. The film released in theatres in July, and after its theatrical run, the film will now make its OTT debut. Netflix announced that the film will premiere on August 22. The film will be available in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, with English subtitles.

Maareesan is headlined by actors Vadivelu and Fahadh Faasil in their second collaboration. It is a slow-burn thriller and road-trip drama. The story revolves around a thief who wants to give a lift to an old man who is presumed to be suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. However, they end up taking a road trip with the old man having an agenda of his own. The rest of the film is about how the duo comes to know of each other and what is the real motive of the old man. The film had opened to good reviews, but did not find a good box office success.

Maareesan is directed by Sudheesh Sankar with script and screenplay penned by Krishna Moorthy. Maareesan is produced by Super Good Films. Kovai Sarala, Vivek Prasanna, Sithara, PL Thenappan, Livingston, Renuka, Saravana Subbiah, Krishna, Haritha, and Telephone Raja, are also part of the film. With Kalaiselvan Sivaji cranking the camera, Sreejith Sarang is the editor.
