The team of Mahaan directed by Karthik Subbaraj has some exciting news. The first single ‘Soorayaatam’ will drop on September 22.

Seven Screen Studio, the production house behind the movie led by Vikram and Dhruv Vikram made the announcement today. Santhosh Narayanan has composed ‘Soorayaatam’ as well as other tracks in the movie.

Written and directed by Karthik, the movie is produced by SS Lalit Kumar via Seven Screen Studio. Shreyaas Krishna is attached as the cinematographer and Vivek Harshan as editor.

Previously, the makers had shared character posters featuring both Vikram and Dhruv Vikram that were met with a sheer positive response. This is the first collaboration between the father-son duo.

The News Minute writes that Mahaan is touted as a gangster thriller set in North Madras. In the movie too, the leads will reportedly play father and son. A release date is yet to be announced.

Simran, Vani Bhojan and Bobby Simhaa will also be seen in supporting roles. Bobby has previously worked with Karthik on eight projects. His performance in 2014 crime-drama Jigarthanda won him a National Award for Best Supporting Actor.
