Maharani Season 4 saw the return of Huma Qureshi as Rani Bharti. This time, the powerful and fearless Rani moved from being the Chief Minister of Bihar to confronting national-level political power struggles in Delhi. With this ambition came dangerous consequences. When Prime Minister Shree Sudhakar Sriniwas Joshi (Vipin Sharma) accused Rani of the murder of Governor Govardhan Das, she took a hard decision to resign from the CM role to teach him a lesson. Following this, Rani declared her daughter, Roshni (Shweta Basu Prasad), as the new CM of Bihar, while she started preparing to become the new PM of India.
Naturally, Rani's decision did not sit well with her team members and also her son, Jai. Jai thought he would become the CM; however, he accepted the result. Following this, Rani faced several issues that came from her family, her team, the opponent team, and society. However, she did not give up.
Rani's team started to break as Kaveri and Mishra due to a lack of communication and trust. Meanwhile, Jai, who started loving the daughter of the Home Minister, had to accept a hard condition to marry her. The condition was that Roshni needed to resign from the CM role; instead, Jai would take the throne.
The last episode of Maharani Season 4 came with a shocking incident. After the political battle, when Rani Bharti was all set to go a step closer to Delhi's power throne, her fate took a cruel turn. When Jai informed her mother to get ready to become the PM, she was all happy, but moments later, her coronation as India's Prime Minister was derailed. Instead, Mr Joshi emerged as the successor, leaving Rani in complete disbelief.
When Rani and her daughter Roshni tried calling Jai, he did not pick up the phone. Rani and Roshni learned that her team, including Kaveri and Mishra, were against Rani and her decision, and broke their bond with her. After this, Rani came to know that Jai, along with his friend Rishi Agarwal, was dead, following a fight between them. This shocking incident changed the trajectory of Rani's life. Later, Rani's youngest son, Surya, played by Darsheel Safary, was informed by the daughter of the Home Minister that Jai and Rishi were murdered, and the postmortem report was false. Surya informed her mother, and Rani became more dedicated to taking revenge for his son's death.
When PM and his new wife visited Rani's house, the latter challenged him that she wouldn't spare him because she thought PM had something to do with his son's murder. The last scene of Maharani Season 4 surely hints at the possibility of Maharani Season 5. If Maharani Season 5 is made, we can expect Rani Bharti's revenge mode against PM Joshi.
