Malayalam actor on being starstruck after seeing Shah Rukh Khan - 'I didn't bother correcting him'

Shah Rukh Khan has a spellbinding effect on most of his fans, even if they are from the film industry. Malayalam actor Roshan Mathew vouches that he is also no different, as he recounted being starstruck upon seeing King Khan. So how did the interaction go? Well, SRK addressed him by some other name, but the Malayalam actor says he didn’t ‘bother correcting him’!

On being starstruck by Shah Rukh Khan

Malayalam actor Roshan Mathew, whose latest film Ithiri Neram hits theatres on November 7, has also made a mark in Bollywood with movies such as Anurag Kashyap’s Choked and Alia Bhatt-starrer Darlings. During a recent chat with Club FM, the Ronth actor recounted how he met Shah Rukh Khan during the Darlings shoot, which King Khan was also producing.

"One day, when I went to the set, everybody looked perplexed and when I turned back, I saw him, standing by the corner and smoking. I was stuck for a second. You actually become starstruck," Roshan recounted.

He further said that SRK watched them shoot for a while, and then hugged everyone and left. When asked if he spoke something to SRK, Roshan quipped, "Entho mandatharam oke parangu (gibberish). It is a moment when we won’t even remember our own name. I think he called me Rohan or something. But I did not bother correcting him."

Darlings is a 2022 Hindi film, which was released directly on Netflix. Apart from Alia Bhatt and Roshan, the film also features Shefali Shah and Vijay Varma.

Roshan Mathew also headlined the Hindi series, Kankhajura, streaming on SonyLiv and OTTplay Premium.

On the other hand, Roshan Mathew’s film Ithiri Neram, which also stars Zarin Shihab, will release in theatres on November 7, along with another movie Innocent, starring Althaf Salim and Anarkali Marikar. Ithiri Neram is helmed by Prasanth Vijay.
