Masthishka Maranam: Krishand's upcoming thriller to hit the big screens soon

Since his most recent web series, The Chronicles of the 4.5 Gang, also known as Sambhavavivaranam Nalara Sangham, which is available for streaming on Sony LIV and OTTplay Premium, received such a fantastic reception, Malayalam filmmaker Krishand has been in the spotlight. In the meantime, there have been reports of an update on his other film, Masthishka Maranam. Post-production work on the movie has already started.

With this most recent development, moviegoers anticipate seeing the film in theatres later this year. Krishand is also the writer of Masthishka Maranam (A Frankenbiting of Simon's Memories)'s screenplay. The posters of this thriller were released by the creators in April of this year. In this futuristic design, Rajisha Vijayan emerges from a virtual reality headset that Niranj Maniyanpilla Raju is wearing. Characters portrayed by Vishnu Agasthya, Divya Prabha, Jagadish, Suresh Krishna, Ann Saleem, and Rahul Rajagopal are introduced in the other quirky posters. Additionally, it features supporting roles from Manoj Kana, Santhy Balachandran, Zhins Shan, Sreenath Babu, Anoop Mohandas, Nandu, and Jain Andrews.

The makers of the movie describe it as a complex drama that centres on a distraught father who tries to re-establish contact with his deceased child by playing a virtual reality memory game. Krishand and Alvin Joseph handled the art direction and camera work under Prayag Mukundan's lead. The film's soundtrack had been composed by Varkey.

Krishand's other films on OTT

The director is well-known for his earlier films, including Purusha Pretham and Aavasavyuham, which are available for streaming on Sony LIV as well as OTTplay Premium. Sambhavavivaranam Nalara Sangham, the gangster-based Malayalam web series, was also acquired by the same OTT platforms.

In August, Krishand's film, Sangarsha Ghadana, was also released in theatres. Even though this wasn't an ordinary gangster film, it was praised for its distinguishing performances and production style.
