The makers of the upcoming Malayalam film, Mehfil, have unveiled an update on its release date. The film, which gives a glimpse into the life of renowned personalities, Mullassery Rajagopal and his wife, will hit the big screen on August 8.

Mehfil release date update

The first poster of the movie was released recently. Meanwhile, it was expected to have a theatrical release soon. It has now been confirmed that Mehfil will have a big screen debut on August 8. If released on the said date, it will run in theatres along with Narain's comedy entertainer, Sahasam, and Krishand's acclaimed directorial, Sangarsha Ghadana. The trailer of the film was unveiled today (August 2) a week ahead of its theatrical premiere.

Mehfil plot and cast details

Mullassery Rajagopal of Kozhikode and a Mehfil night that occurred during his lifetime are said to be the basis for the film. In Ranjith's film Devasuram and Ravanaprabhu, Mohanlal's famous role Mangalassery Neelakandan was also adapted from this well-known figure.

Jayaraj is the director of Mehfil, which is being produced by Dr Manoj Govindan under the banner of Wide Screen Media Productions. Jayaraj also wrote the dialogue, screenplay, and story of this heartfelt drama. Manorama Max will shortly broadcast Shanthamee Rathriyil, his most recent directorial. One of Jayaraj's next films is Pramadhavanam, which is based on a story by Madhavikutty.

The primary characters of Mehfil are Asha Sarath and Mukesh. The main cast also includes Unni Mukundan, Manoj K Jayan, Kailash, Renji Panicker, Siddharth Menon, Vaishnavi, Sabitha Jayaraj, Aswath Lal, Manoj Govindan, Ajeesh, and Shibu Nair, in addition to well-known singers Ramesh Narayan, G Venugopal, Krishnachandran, and Akhila Anand making guest appearances. Deepankuran and Kaithapram wrote eight in the film. The songs are sung by Mustafa Manthottam, Vaikom Vijayalakshmi, G Venugopal, Aravind Venugopal, and Ramesh Narayan. Audiences gave the recently released song "Nondavarke Novariyu" from this movie favourable reviews. Rahul Deep is the cinematographer of this flick.
