Before the Malayalam film’s Christmas release, the Mindiyum Paranjum trailer was released which gives more than a glimpse of the Unni Mukundan-Aparna starrer with fans debating the genre.

Mindiyum Paranjum is an upcoming Malayalam film which stars Unni Mukundan and Aparna Balamurali in the lead roles of a married couple. The film has been in the making for several years and is finally set to release in theatres on December 25. Before the film’s Christmas release, the makers released the Mindiyum Paranjum trailer, which gives more than a glimpse of the upcoming film, according to netizens.

Unni Mukundan, who shot to national fame with his extremely violent film Marco, turns a romantic husband in the trailer of the film Mindiyum Paranjum. He is seen as Sanal or Sanalettan to his wife Leena, played by Aparna Balamurali. The trailer opens with a concerned Leena chiding Sanal for not informing her about his injury. We then see some cute scenes featuring the couple before they finally decide to register their marriage without letting their families know. The trailer then ends with scenes of floods in Kerala, with Sanal getting stranded as Leena is left waiting for him.

Overall, the Mindiyum Paranjum trailer promises an endearing tale of an ordinary couple as they navigate their life and the ups and downs of relationships.

Apart from Unni Mukundan and Aparna, the trailer also shows actors Jaffer Idukki, and Maala Parvathi, along with actor-filmmaker Jude Anthany Joseph.

Fans react to Mindiyum Paranjum

But the Mindiyum Paranjum trailer does not seem to have impressed most of the netizens, who pointed out the trailer almost shows all the key scenes from the film. Some mockingly said that the makers could have included whether Sanal survived, so that the viewers would be saved from the trouble of going to the theatres. However, Unni Mukundan fans rooted for their star, with some stating that it could end up as a thriller.

Arun Bose has directed the film, and also co-written the script with Mridul George.

The film will clash with Nivin Pauly-led Sarvam Maya and Shane Nigam's Haal on Christmas Day at the Kerala box office.
