Mohanlal, who was recently honoured with Dadasaheb Phalke Award, has picked Amitabh Bachchan as his favourite actor, rating Big B as one of the greatest artists the country.

Malayalam superstar Mohanlal continues to win much love and support from cinephiles across the country after he was bestowed with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. Veteran Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan joined other stars in congratulating Mohanlal for his monumental achievement. Now, Mohanlal has picked Amitabh Bachchan as his favourite actor, rating Big B as one of the greatest actors in the country.

In a recent chat with DD India, Mohanlal was asked to pick his favourite actor and he named Big B, after initially saying it is difficult to pick one.

“All the actors are good actors. I love them. You cannot pinpoint one. If you ask, I can say Amitabh Bachchan. He is just amazing. He is one of the greatest artists in the country… What kind of transformation he has done and he is still actin... That's the brilliance of an actor,” he replied enthusiastically. Mohanlal and Amitabh Bachchan had acted together in a Malayalam film, Kandahar, way back in 2010

Mohanlal also had good words for his co-actors from his home industry in Malayalam.

“We have wonderful actors in Malayalam but most of the actors left us... Suddenly if you ask, I can say Amitabh Bachchan sir,” added the actor. Mohanlal had earlier also spoken about the remarkable talents from Kerala who are no more. During a recent interview, Mohanlal said that he avoids seeing old films since most of his colleagues from that era are no more.
