Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and starring Rajinikanth alongside Nagarjuna and Aamir Khan, Coolie is set for an August 14 theatrical release, competing with War 2

The second single from Coolie is out! Titled Monica, the song features actor Pooja Hegde in a cameo appearance for the song. Coolie is headlined by Rajinikanth and will release on August 14 in theatres.

The makers of Coolie have begun the promotions of the film. After releasing Chikitu song, the second single Monica was released by the team on Friday. Titled Monica, the second single has vocals rendered by Sublahshini, and Anirudh Ravichander, with rap by Asal Kolaar. Anirudh Ravichander has scored the album for Coolie. The lyrics is by Vishnu Edavan. The song features Pooja Hegde dancing in what looks like a factory setup as we see Soubin Shahir and Rishikanth shaking a leg, to the choreography of Sandy.

Coolie is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and features Rajinikanth in the lead role. The ensemble star cast also includes Nagarjuna, Upendra, Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan and others. Hindi actor Aamir Khan will be making a cameo appearance in the film. Touted to be an action thriller, Coolie will release in theatres on August 14. It is produced by Sun Pictures and Girish Gangadharan is cranking the camera.
Unlike Lokesh’s other films like Kaithi, Vikram and Leo, Coolie will not come under LCU. It marks the first time Lokesh is working with Rajinikanth.

The release of Coolie will be coinciding with Hindi film War 2 release. Both the film, which features a star ensemble will be battling it out at the box office. War 2 features Hrithik Roshan, Junior NTR, and Kiara Advani in the lead roles. The film is directed by Ayan Mukerji and falls under the YRF spy universe. Apart from War, the Universe has introduced Salman Khan's Tiger franchise and Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan, which will turn into a franchise soon. Alia Bhatt-Sharvari's Alpha is also officially a part of the Spy Universe.
