JSK, Nadikar on OTT

After the big release of Tovino Thomas-led Narivetta and Ronth in July, the Malayalam digital space is all set to welcome another bunch of interesting yet varied films in August. Tovino Thomas’ long-delayed Nadikar, Suresh Gopi-led courtroom drama JSK and Anaswara Rajan-starrer Vyasanasametham Bandhumithradhikal are among the major films expected to drop on OTT this coming month. Here are all the latest updates on the most-awaited Malayalam films that are likely to make their OTT releases in August 2025 on platforms such as JioHotstar, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Sony LIV, and more.

Nadikar

Where to watch - Saina Play, Prime Video

Nadikar, the 2024 Malayalam film, is yet to be available for streaming, even more than a year after its release. But in a positive update, Saina Play has announced that it will be releasing the film on the platform soon though an official release date is yet to be revealed. Tovino Thomas appears as a film star in Nadikar, which also features an ensemble cast of noted actors such as Bhavana, Divya Pillai, Soubin Shahir, and Balu Varghese, among others.

Janaki V v/s State of Kerala

OTT release date: TBA

On the other hand, Janaki V v/s State of Kerala or JSK had a tough time just to make its theatrical release after the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) objected to having Janaki in the title. The courtroom, which finally released in theatres on July 17, depicts an assault victim’s fight for justice. Anupama Parameswaran returns to Malayalam cinema with this film in the titular role, while Suresh Gopi plays the fiery advocate. An OTT release date is yet to be announced but the film is expected to make its digital premiere after its theatrical run.

Vyasanasametham Bandhumithradhikal

OTT release date: TBA

Director S Vipin’s film takes a hilarious route to depict the happenings around a funeral. Anaswara Rajan stars as Anjali, along with actors such as Siju Sunny and Joemon Jyothir, who are known for their comedy performances. The film did win mostly positive reviews but deserved more attention. The quirky movie is likely to drop on Manorama Max in August 2025.

Sarkeet - TBA

Asif Ali leads this heartwarming film as Ameer, who reaches the Gull, literally looking for greener pastures. But here he meets and bonds with a young boy and the film portrays their beautiful relationship. Actors Divya Prabha and Deepak Parambol, is joined by child artiste Orhan Hyder in this film, which deserves to be watched.

Bazooka - TBA

Bazooka is Mammootty’s second theatrical release of the year after Dominic and the Ladies' Purse. But unfortunately, both films are yet to find their way to the digital space. Bazooka had even reportedly signed a deal, but there has been no positive update since. However, the action-packed thriller is expected to make its OTT release in August.
