As per Sacnilk, My Lord has made only Rs 35 lakh at the box office, which is far less than Sasikumar's previous hit film Tourist Family which debuted with Rs 2 crore on its first day. The collections are also far less than Raju Murugan’s previous directorial Japan, which has bombed at the box office. The Karthi starrer had an opening of Rs 4 crore. However, with word of mouth and weekend to follow, My Lord is expected to increase its box office numbers. My Lord must also compete with other films like Pookie, O Romeo, Funky, Wuthering Heights, across languages to break even.

What is My Lord about?

My Lord is a Tamil social drama which revolves around a couple from Kovilpatti, Muthusippy and Susila who work at a matchbox factory. A series of problems lands them ‘dead’ as per government records even as they are alive. It is at this time when an affluent man comes in search of Muthusippy, requesting him to donate one of his kidneys to a central minister who is dying. When Muthusippy strikes a deal that he needs a ration card to donate his organ, the film explores a series of events that brings out a deadly organ trafficking racket to daylight. Asha Sharath, Guru Somasundaram, Jayaprakash, Gopi Nainar and Vasumithra appear in important roles.
