Nana Patekar opens up about fallout with Sanjay Leela Bhansali on Khamoshi's set - 'The way I yelled at him, he must have...'

Nana Patekar recently spoke about his infamous fallout with director Sanjay Leela Bhansali on Khamoshi's set. Th actor also opened up about possibility of their reunion.

Nana Patekar had many arguments with Sanjay Leela Bhansali during Khamoshi's shoot. The filmmaker made his directorial debut with the 1996 film, which starred Nana as a deaf man Joseph. A few months ago, the senior actor detailed a scene from Khamoshi scene on which he had disagreements with the filmmaker. However, it was the culmination of several arguments that led to their fallout. In a new interview, Nana revealed he yelled at SLB on his film set.

In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Nana Patekar spoke about his fallout with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The veteran actor also addressed the possibility of his reunion with the filmmaker.

"There are possibilities of me returning to work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, but I guess the way I yelled at him, he must have felt bad. We didn’t work after that. Not that the fight made any difference in our respective lives," revealed Nana.

The senior actor confessed he misses working with the filmmaker. "But the problem is I am very rude. I use extremely harsh words. It must have upset him. However, I never tried to clarify anything with him," he added. He further hoped they would sort out differences in the future.

Nana Patekar admits he was 'too violent'

In the same conversation, Nana Patekar revealed people were 'scared' of him earlier because he was 'too violent'. The senior actor said he wouldn't speak much and let his actions speak. Having said that, Patekar considers himself 'less violent' now. "But, even today, if someone triggers me, I end up beating them up. If I had not become an actor, I would have been in the underworld. I am not kidding. I am extremely serious about this," he said.

The 73-year-old concluded by mentioning that acting gave him an outlet and it became a way for him to take out his frustration. On the work front, he is awaiting the theatrical release of his movie, Vanvaas. It will be released on December 20, 2024.
