Nana Patekar reacts to slap controversy on Vanvaas set

Reacting to the incident, Nana Patekar spoke to News18 Showsha and revealed what happened. He even admitted that he was 'wrong' for slapping the man but also said that people should know the place and time wherein they should express their love for someone.

Nana told the portal, "One person had come, it had become a controversy. I slapped him, however, it was wrong. He came out of love. He didn’t know that we were in between a shot. He came in between the shots and tried to take a selfie. I slapped him, which was wrong. But there is a place to express your love for a person. (If he had) come after I have completed the shot, I won’t have an issue. But at that, it became a big controversy."

What happened back then?

The controversy started after the Welcome actor slapped a fan who tried taking a selfie with him. He was shooting in Varanasi when the incident took place. A man walked into the sets in between shots and tried to take a picture with the veteran actor. Fan's behavior irked Nana and he ended up slapping him. In no time, the video from the sets went viral on the internet and the actor received massive backlash on social media. However, Nana Patekar accepted his mistake and apologized to the fan back then after the video went viral.

Meanwhile, Vanvaas also stars Khushboo Sundar, Utkarsh Sharma, Rajpal Yadav, and Simrat Kaur. The film will be released on 20th December 2024.
