Telugu star Nani is quite upbeat about his upcoming movie Dasara. It is his first "pan-India" release and he's leaving no stone unturned to ensure a big launch for the movie across the country. During a recent media interaction in Jaipur, Nani revealed that he was drunk 20 per cent of the time while shooting for Dasara.

"About 80 per cent of the time, it was juice, not alcohol. But, 20 per cent of the time, I had to drink alcohol. Because the effect that my director had in mind didn't happen when I drank the non-alcoholic beverage. When I did the bottoms up, my eyes were supposed to turn red, but it didn't happen. So in close-up shots, I drank alcohol. If I did more takes with the original alcohol, I couldn't have acted properly," Nani explained.

Nani also promised that Dasara would give the audience a one-of-its-kind theatrical experience . He noted that the movie's highlight would be his performance in the climax portion.

"If you are watching this movie in a packed theatre, you won't be able to hear the last 20 minutes. It has non-stop rage and we shot that scene alone for 17 nights. We used to start the shoot at 6 PM and pack up at 6 AM. And we shot in December when it was extremely cold. Everyone on the set was wearing a jacket, while I was in a lungi and vest. It was a difficult episode to shoot." Nani said.

The original Telugu will also release in Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi languages. And Nani is hoping that the new-found interest in Telugu movies in the Hindi-speaking belt will also benefit Dasara.

Written and directed by debutant Srikanth Odela, the film also stars Dheekshith Shetty, Keerthy Suresh, Samuthirakani, Shine Tom Chacko and others. The movie is due in cinemas on March 30.
