Thammudu is Nithiin's upcoming film, all set to hit screens in a big way on July 4, 2025. Nithiin desperately needs a hit, as his last few films were major flops at the box office. The A.Aaa, Sye, and Bheeshma star has pinned all his hopes on Thammudu.

Ahead of the film’s trailer launch, we have learned that Netflix has acquired the digital rights for a fancy price. Dil Raju, the producer of Thammudu, recently finalised the deal. Reports also suggest that Thammudu will be available on OTT within a month of its release if it fails at the box office.

This is part of a new trend where major streaming platforms are factoring in box office performance when signing OTT deals. Netflix, in particular, is leaving no stone unturned when it comes to acquiring Telugu film rights, and is once again offering massive amounts, similar to what it used to offer over the past couple of years.

So, Thammudu needs to succeed at the box office, or else it will be released on OTT within 28 days of its theatrical debut.

The film is directed by Venu Sriram, who last delivered the super hit Vakeel Saab starring Pawan Kalyan. Thammudu is also notable for marking the return of yesteryear star heroine Laya to Telugu cinema after a long hiatus. She will play Nithiin’s sister in this emotional action drama.

Saptami Gowda of Kantara fame is also making a comeback with this film and plays a strong role as well. Despite the film being delayed for over three years, producer Dil Raju is confident that the trailer will generate strong buzz and set the tone for the film’s release.
