Not just Drishyam 3, another Mohanlal-Jeethu Joseph film is set for Hindi remake?

The Malayalam film Neru, starring superstar Mohanlal and helmed by Jeethu Joseph, could be remade in Hindi, as per reports quoting its co-writer Santhi Mayadevi.

Drishyam 3's release is nearly three months away, but anticipation continues to build as fans urge the makers of the Mohanlal-starrer to release the Malayalam film on April 2, 2026. The Hindi version of the third instalment, starring Ajay Devgn, is also underway and has already announced October 2 release. Even amid this, reports say that another Jeethu Joseph film with Mohanlal in the lead is being remade in Hindi. The said film is Neru - a courtroom drama, which was co-written by Santhi Mayadevi, who has now made the revelation to Vanitha magazine.

Neru is a Malayalam film, starring superstar Mohanlal in the lead role of advocate Vijayamohan and helmed by Jeethu Joseph, marking yet another successful collaboration of actor-director. Santhi Mayadevi, an actress and real-life lawyer, co-wrote the script with Jeethu Joseph.

“"Neru gave me confidence as screenplay writer. Neru is being remade into Hindi. Jeethu sir is directing that one also," Santhy was quoted as saying by Malayalam media.

She further said that there were discussions around a second part for Neru, but these did not lead to any fruitful result.

Neru revolves the sexual assault case of a blind sculptor, Sara, who seeks the help of advocate Vijayamohan to fight her battle in court. Though Vijaymohan is reluctant at first, he takes up her case and ensures justice for her. Actress Anaswara Rajan plays Sara with a quiet dignity, and stands almost on par with the veteran Mohanlal. Jagadish is seen as Sara’s stepfather, while Siddique plays the brutal defense lawyer. Neru was lauded by both critics and audiences for its sensitive narratives and performances.
