Ahaan Panday, who is enjoying the roaring box office success of his debut movie, Saiyaara, was originally set to be launched alongside Ajay Devgn in a YRF superhero film. He first made his debut as an assistant director in Netflix's YRF miniseries The Railway Men. However, before that, he had already been selected to headline a superhero film under the YRF banner alongside Ajay Devgn.
Bollywood Hungama reported that the multi-part superhero saga was supposed to feature Ahaan in the lead and Ajay Devgn as the antagonist. Former Miss World Manushi Chhillar was also on board.
A source shared, “It’s true that Ahaan Panday and Ajay Devgn will be seen together. Ajay plays the antagonist in this film, which promises to be a visually grand and exciting affair. It’ll be a part of a superhero series and every part will have a new villain."
However, the film never went beyond pre-production. In 2021, after several of his pending projects were disrupted due to COVID-19, Ajay Devgn reportedly stepped down due to scheduling issues. After the plan was scrapped, Ahaan joined director Shiv Rawail's The Railway Men as an AD.
After the show aired in November 2023, Ahaan shared a post on Instagram reminiscing about his time on the set. He wrote, “I was working on a show about a group of brave souls… it made me realise that that is the only way we can treat our dreams… sometimes life forces you to think about where you’re going, but that’s exactly when you need to look out of that window and see the beauty in it all."
