Paathirathri release date

Paathirathri will release in theatres on October 17 2025. The Navya Nair-starrer will hit theatres a day after actor Sharafudheen’s The Pet Detective, which hits theatres on October 16. Rima Kallingal-led noted film Theatre: The Myth of Reality will also be released on Thursday.

Paathirathri stars Navya Nair and Soubin Shahir in the lead roles of cops. Other key roles are played by Sunny Wayne, Indrans, Ann Augustine, Harisree Ashokan and Shabareesh Varma.

Paathirathri plot

Set in Idukki, the plot of Paathirathri revolves around a woman police officer and a constable. They get pulled into a crime incident that happens one midnight and upends their lives. The title Paathirathri means midnight. The film is said to be inspired by real events in Kerala.

The Paathirathri trailer begins with police officer Jancy (Navya Nair) submitting a report to senior cop. Soubin Shahir is shown as constable Hareesh, who sets out on a patrolling duty with her. As they follow certain leads and a suspect into the woods, but are unable to catch him. But as the trailer progresses, it is revealed that the tables have turned on the two cops who now need to ensure their own safety first. The trailer turns tense amid thrilling chase sequences and action scenes. As the trailer ends, someone asks - so how did you kill him?

Paathirathri has been censored U/A 13+ by the Central Board of Film Certification. Children below the age of 13 can watch it with parental guidance. Yet another cop story from Malayalam, Paathirathri is touted to be a crime drama thriller.
