What are the latest updates of Mammootty's Padayaatra?
The pooja ceremonies marked the commencement of the film, which is being backed as Mammootty Kampany's eighth production. Adoor Gopalakrishnan and K V Mohankumar wrote the film's plot, screenplay, and dialogue. Wayfarer Films, owned by his son Dulquer Salmaan, will release the movie in theatre across Kerala. There will soon be more details about the movie's cast. Online rumours suggest that either Vidya Balan or Nayanthara are likely to portray the female protagonist in this eagerly awaited film. The main actors and crew will shortly post pictures of the puja ceremony on various social media platforms.
It's interesting to note that two of the Malayalam megastar's three national awards for Best Actor—Mathilukal and Vidheyan—came from his previous works with Adoor Gopalakrishnan. The acclaimed filmmaker's recent film was Dileep-starrer Pinneyum (2016). Although there have been rumours about Mammootty's project with this director for some time, Adoor only recently confirmed it at a public event. There have been rumours that the movie will probably be an adaptation of the well-known novel Randidangazhi by Thakazhi Sivasankara Pillai.
