Pallichattambi new release date: Tovino Thomas' upcoming Malayalam film will hit theatres on April 10, 2026, the makers have said, while also announcing that the teaser will be out on March 23.

Malayalam star Tovino Thomas’ first film to hit theatres in 2026 is Pallichattambi, helmed by director Dijo Jose Antony. The upcoming period film, also starring Kayadu Lohar, was slated to release on April 9 but the makers have now announced that the Tovino Thomas-starrer has been deferred by a day, amid the Kerala polls.

The upcoming Malayalam film Pallichattambi will release in theatres on April 10, 2026, the makers have said, while also announcing that the teaser will be out on March 23. The film’s postponement from the initial release date of April 9 was on the cards, given that Kerala goes to state Assembly polls on the same day. The poll dates were announced only this month, while Pallichattambi had booked the date much earlier.

Pallichattambi comes a week after superstar Mohanlal’s much-awaited thriller Drishyam 3 on April 2, 2026. Concerns over Middle East tensions have put a shadow over Malayalam film releases, but the recently released Aadu 3 has been performing well at the box office.

What is Pallichattambi about

With a script written by S Suresh Babu, Pallichattambi revolves around migrant communities in the high ranges of Kerala during the late 1950s. Along with Tovino Thomas in the lead, Pallichattambi also features popular actress Kayadu Lohar. Senior actors Vijayaraghavan, Johny Antony, and TG Ravi are also part of the cast along with Sudheer Karamanna, Sreejith Ravi, and Prashanth Alexander.

Which are the other Tovino Thomas films

Tovino Thomas was last seen in a cameo appearance in the blockbuster film Lokah: Chapter 1 Chandra, while he starred in a lead role in the socio-political thriller Narivetta. Tovino has another film set for summer release - Athiradi, which releases on May 14. Actors Basil Joseph and Riya Shibu are also part of Athiradi, which promises to be a fun campus entertainer.
