Paranthu Po trailer out: Director Ram makes a film for all parents who want to succeed and prove to their children

The trailer of Paranthu Po, the upcoming Tamil film starring Shiva, Grace Antony and others, has been released by the makers on social media on Thursday. Directed by filmmaker Ram, Paranthu Po will release on July 4 in theatres.

Director Ram, who has been missing in action for some time now, is back with Paranthu Po, a film which had premiered at the International Film Festival of Rotterdam last year. The film is now gearing up for its theatrical release on July 4.

The film features Shiva, Grace Antony, Aju Varghese, Anjali and others. The trailer begins with a family of three, with the son attending his virtual classes. After sending a heart emoji to a fellow girl student, the teacher asks the boy about the whereabouts of his parents, who are shown not to be at home. We see that the boy has not come out for long, as we see the family take on a journey. We see various intercuts of the family enjoying, engaged in conflicts, and beginning a journey of self-discovery, as Ram dedicates the film to all fathers and mothers who strive to succeed and prove to their children.

Where to watch Paranthu Po on OTT?

After its theatrical run, Paranthu Po will stream on JioHotstar, which has bagged the digital streaming rights. Paranthu Po is director Ram’s first film in the last four years, given his last release was the 2019 film Peranbu, starring Mammootty in the lead role.

Paranthu Po has been shot by cinematographer Ekambaram NK and edited by Mathi VS. Ram, who is known for collaborating with composer Yuvan Shankar Raja for his films, took a different route this time, with Santhosh Dhayanidhi scoring the music. But the background music is composed by Yuvan.

Meanwhile, there is also Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai directed by Ram awaiting release. The film stars Soori, Nivin Pauly and Anjali in the lead roles.
