Pathu Thala: Director Obeli clarifies on Silambarasan's absence in promo video, requests fans to be patient

AR Rahman, Kabilan and Obeli N Krishna

The first single from Obeli N Krishna's Pathu Thala, titled Namma Satham, was released recently. AR Rahman's riveting composition was instantly lapped up by his fans and admirers of Silambarasan, who plays the lead in the movie. The makers are now gearing up for the release of its second single.

As part of the promotion, they have unveiled a still featuring Rahman, lyricist Kabilan and Obeli. All of them are seen dressed in a black shirt and the Mozart of Madras is seen working on his piano even as the other two are watching him.

A few fans of Silambarasan, however, are miffed about the absence of their favourite star in the picture. They have been expressing their disappointment on social media after which Obeli took to his Twitter page to request fans to be patient. He also added that the team's idea was to come up with a promo video without Silambarasan's presence in it.

He tweeted, "Dear all , just want to make it clear, our original idea itself not to bring @SilambarasanTR_ in our promo video as per our strategy so, don’t abuse his name for no reason our producer @kegvraja @StudioGreen2 has clear idea about promotion of #PathuThala We hate ,hate speech (sic)."

Pathu Thala, which was set to hit the screens in December, will be released on March 30. Gnanavel has produced the movie under the banner of Studio Green. Priya Bhavani Shankar, Kalaiyarasan, Gautham Karthik and Teejay Arunasalam will be seen essaying key roles in the film which is the remake of Kannada project Mufti.

Silambarasan essays the role of AGR, a veteran gangster who saves the life of many underprivileged people settled in his village.
