JioHotstar’s latest Malayalam series Pharma, starring Nivin Pauly in the lead role of medical representative KP Vinod, started streaming on the platform on December 19, 2025. OTTplay Premium subscribers can also watch the Malayalam series, which is available in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada.

Pharma series episodes

The Pharma series has eight episodes, each with a duration of around 20 to 30 minutes. The latest series, a Hotstar Special, follows the same format as other Malayalam series on the platform. This is the third Malayalam series this year on the platform after Love Under Construction and Kerala Crime Files Season 2.

What’s the plot of Pharma series

Pharma follows medical representative KP Vinod who after initial days of struggle begins to promote a particular medicine. Though initially a success, Vinod soon realises that the medicine is causing serious health hazards to patients. He is then determined to fight against the corporate, and expose the malpractices of the pharmaceutical industry. Pharma director PR Arun had earlier said that his series is inspired by real-life incidents.

Apart from Nivin in the lead role, the series features Hindi actor Rajit Kapoor who is returning to the Malayalam industry after more than 25 years. Rajit had starred alongside Shobana in Agnisakshi. Binu Pappu, Narain, Shruti Ramachandran and Veena Nandakumar play other significant roles in Pharma, which is written and helmed by PR Arun.
