The Mani Ratnam directorial is hitting the screens on April 28 in five languages

The trailer and audio of Ponniyin Selvan 2 was unveiled a week ago at a grand event which was held in Chennai. Despite movie buffs complaining about lack of aggressive promotions, makers are coming up with short promo videos to entertain them. They have now released a short video featuring Poonguzhali played by Aishwarya Lekshmi in the magnum opus.

The BTS video has her uttering the dialogue "This is the northern part of Sri Lanka. Who can defeat the ones that are ready to lose". Post delivering the dialogue from the much-awaited second installment, she looks confused and looks at the team to know if her shot was fine.

This is followed by a few stills appearing in the video from her photoshoot for the movie. Needless to say, Poonguzhali is one of the crucial characters in the novel. Though some of her portions from the epic novel have been trimmed to suit the cinematic liberty of the first installment, fans of the character and actress are eager to know what she has in store in the second part.

Her sequences with Karthi and Jayam Ravi are expected to be a few of the highlights of PS 2 which will be released in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada on April 28.

The BTS video mentions Poonguzhali as "A ray of sunshine in a sea of darkness" which is apt to the tender, but bold character Aishwarya has essayed in the movie. Though many cinephiles were rooting for Trisha's Kundavai and Aishwarya Rai's Nandini, Poonguzhali came as a surprise for movie lovers.

Her natural charm and effective screen presence helped elevate the most-loved and mysterious character in the novel. Her chemistry with Vanthiyathevan was one of the highlights of Ponniyin Selvan 1.
