The promotions of Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan 2 have been one of a kind. The entire lead cast of the film toured different parts of the country back to back as part of the Chola Tour and won many hearts. And despite living out of a suitcase in those days, they managed to turn heads with their looks. The stars had become emotional during the last leg of the promotions and had stated that it's not often that one got an opportunity to bond like them.

Actor Parthiban, who played Chinna Pazhuvettairayar in the film, was all praise for the way the lead cast promoted the film. During a promotional event of the film, he said that this was the first time he had seen an aircraft where so many pretty women descended in tow. He also likened it to Pushapaka Vinanam from Ramayana and said that this aircraft brought pushpams (flowers) everywhere referring to the women. He added that the ladies of the film, Trisha, Sobhita Dhulipala and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, looked stunning as they descended from the flight.

Parthiban didn't stop there. He said that the men too looked super stylish during the promotions. "Look at Vikram, he has been slaying the fashion game just with his mayiru (hair). Who would have thought that one could be so stylish just by flaunting one's 'kudumi' and 'mayiru'. You have done whatever you could with Thangalaan as well."

Vikam, later, had a super witty response to the comment. He said, "Thank you so much, Parthiban sir, who was so jealous of my hair, sorry, praised my hair. Thank you for appreciating my hair bun. But I think you have a better hair bun in the film. Your name itself is Parthi 'ban'. "

Later, Chiyaan said that Parthiban was a character that had a huge impact despite not having many dialogues in the film. The video is now doing the rounds on social media.
