Movie buffs were surprised when there were speculation of Silambarasan attending the audio and trailer launch of Ponniyin Selvan 2. The Maanaadu star made a grand entrance at the event amid fans whistling and cheering for him. He arrived at the venue after the movie's cast and crew members seated themselves at the indoor stadium.

He started his speech by revealing that he is quite nervous as his latest outing Pathu Thala is hitting the screens today. He was all praise for the Mani Ratnam directorial and said that he will always be indebted to the maverick filmmaker for trusting him in Chekka Chivantha Vaanam.  

Going gaga over Vikram's stylish appearance, Silambarasan said that he has always admired his work and expressed eagerness on the former's forthcoming flick Thangalaan as well. He said that he can't wait to watch the chemistry between Karthi and Trisha, and wished luck to Jayam Ravi.

The star added that it was overwhelming to see his gurus Mani, AR Rahman and Kamal Haasan together in the event and expressed his pleasure to grace the occasion. His revelation of admiration towards Aishwarya Rai left everyone in splits.

Silambarasan reminisced about participating in a drawing competition during his school days and ended up sketching Aishwarya as he didn't know what else to do. He went on to win first prize in the contest and wondered if he was actually a good artist.

Aishwarya couldn't control her laughter when the actor added that he was left confused on how he ended up as the winner of the competition.
