The first single from Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan 2, Aga Naga, was unveiled a few days ago. Shakthisree Gopalan has lent voice for the melody which has lyrics penned by Ilango Krishnan and music composed by AR Rahman. The song will feature Karthi and Trisha, and it revolves around the romance between Kundavai and Vanthiyathevan.

Music lovers have been going gaga over the track ever since it was released in five languages. They are now waiting to watch it on the big screen along with the visuals from Ravivarman and production design by Thota Tharani.

The makers have now released a short video as a surprise for film buffs. Trisha has appeared in it, thanking everyone for the love they have been showering on the song. She has requested everyone to come up with their version of the song. The actress has also asked them to post it on social media along with the hashtag #AgaNagaCoversContest.

The next update from the project is likely to be its much-awaited trailer which will be unveiled on March 29. The team is yet to reveal the date for its audio launch.

Mani Ratnam has started inviting several celebs from Kollywood sometime ago. A picture of him clicked along with Bharathiraja while paying a visit to the latter's home to invite him for the event went viral a few days ago.

Cinephiles are curious to know about the celebs who will be attending the audio launch this time around. The film will be released in five languages on April 28. Its post theatrical digital rights have been bagged by Amazon Prime Video.
