Pookie, the upcoming Tamil film which will be produced by Vijay Antony, and stars Ajay Dhishan, has locked its release date. The announcement was made on the occasion of Christmas. Pookie is all set to hit big screens for Valentine's Day on February 13.

Vijay Antony introduced his nephew Ajay Dhishan in this year’s Maargan, a murder mystery drama. The latter is now set to play a lead role in his sophomore outing, titled Pookie. The film will be hitting big screens for the occasion of Valentine’s Day next year, on December 13.

With a young cast and crew, Ajay Dhishan will be starring in the film along with RK Dhanusha, Pandiarajan, Sunil, Lakshmi Manchu, Indumathi Manigandan, Aaditya Kathir, Vivek Prasanna, Black Pandi, Bigg Boss Sathya, MJ Shriram, Radha, Ashwin Ram, Shiyara Sharmi, Priyanka, among the many others. The film is directed by Ganesh Chandra, who is also doubling up as the cinematographer of the film. Meanwhile, besides producing, Vijay Antony will also edit the film and score music. The story, screenplay and dialogues are written by Puthiya Parithi. Pookie is expected to be a young and vibrant romantic drama, which is timely for Valentine’s Day. The plot is expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.

What else to release for Valentine’s Day?

Apart from Pookie, Pradeep Ranganathan’s Love Insurance Kompany is also eyeing for Valentine’s Day weekend opening. We, at OTTplay, have already confirmed that the film will be hitting theatres in February 2026 after it was postponed. Earlier, LIK was scheduled to release in December. However, an official announcement from the makers is yet to arrive.

Written and directed by filmmaker Vignesh Shivan, LIK is a romantic drama that is set in the future. Actor Krithi Shetty will be playing the female lead, with SJ Suryah, Gouri Kishan, Seeman and others in supporting roles.
