During a press conference promoting his upcoming film, Dude, in Kochi on October 16, the actor discussed his favourite Malayalam films and the release of the movie in Kerala.

Pradeep Ranganathan and Mamitha Baiju, the main cast of the upcoming Tamil film, Dude, are occupied with promoting the romantic comedy drama that will be released in theatres on October 17. During a press conference in Kochi today (October 16), the actor discussed his favourite Malayalam films and the premiere of the movie in Kerala.

The young actor and director initially cited Drishyam as his favourite Malayalam film, with Thudarum, another popular film by Mohanlal, being his more recent pick. "I obviously loved Drishyam as much as everyone else. Thudarum is also a fantastic piece of art. Pradeep stated, "I personally called the director, Tharun Moorthy, to express my appreciation for the film, especially because of his excellent work behind it." He also expressed his hope that the film's lead actress, Mamitha Baiju, would help it have a better favourable reception in Kerala. "Mamitha is an amazing performer, and Premalu was such a hit. As a result, we expect more Malayalis to see Dude in theatres," he continued. Pradeep continued by saying that he has no forecasts for the box office because it is entirely up to the audience.

In addition to Sarathkumar, Rohini, Maine Pyar Kiya-fame Hridhu Haroon, Neha Shetty, and other actors in supporting roles, Dude marks the directorial debut of Keerthiswaran. It has music by Sai Abhyankkar, who recently worked in Shane Nigam's sports action thriller, Balti.

Agan and Kural, who grew up together from childhood, are at the centre of Dude's narrative. Kural is caught between the burden of their friendship as Agan fights to hide his love for her. The main focus of the movie is Agan's attempts to offer comfort to Kural while battling the hurt of his unacknowledged emotions. Dude will be released on October 17 together with two other Tamil films, Diesel, starring Harish Kalyan, and Bison, with Dhruv Vikram in the lead role.
